Introduction 101

First I'll start by just giving you an introduction of who I am and what I'm about.

I am Kirsten Balkom, mommy to Jude (2) and wife to Brandon (29).
I got married July 21, 2007 to my Husband, Brandon.
In october of 2007 we found out that we were expecting our first child. We kept it a mystery as to what the sex was until the baby was born on June 19, 2008. He was, is, a baby boy who will be 2 this summer.
Brandon and I have had many ups and downs during the last 3 years of our marriage, but somehow by the grace of God we have survived them all, and continue to do so.

I am writing because I feel that I am ready to share in the seriousness of blogging. I have been inspired by several sources as of late, to really get into sharing the blessings in my life instead of the bad things.

I am a caregiver for an elderly man who I care about a lot. I work 30 hours a week and have Jude being cared for by a wonderful woman from our church.
I often feel at times like I am not doing the best job I could be doing as a mother because I am not superwoman and don't spend every waking moment with my child, but then I remind myself that there are children out there without mothers who are not even in the picture, so then I don't feel so bad for myself, but for those children.

I plan to homeschool Jude when he is ready for school. Everyday is a learning experience and through this blog I hope that you can share with us some of the adventures we will be going on. I plan to take him lots of places and let him experience the world through hands on activities and tons of field trips.

I hope that you'll come back often and share in the journey of life with us. It will be fun and probably sometimes sad, but most of all it will be a glimpse at the love of a mother's heart....
